Shopping 第一定律
我對 shopping 的興趣不大，但就喜歡逛商場，因為逛商場可以是一個豐富的學習體驗。例如可藉著欣賞櫥窗佈置，悟出一些設計心得。又或者留意店舖內的擺設，揣摩一下捕捉顧客心理的法門。更美妙的是只要忍得往手，學習費用全免。
昨晚，趁老婆豬參加慈善冰酒興趣班，帶小豬B去逛商場。過程中，他學會了不同聖誕飾物的名稱；在女性運動衣專門店學會分辨紅色和粉紅色；在菜市場了解到 red pepper 和 red apple 的分別，穫益良多。
待小豬B長大一點，我會教他看價錢牌，以及 shopping 的第一定律：「如非必需品，必需要等特價才考慮購買。」

我最近也在書上讀到 shopping 定律:
1. 寧可把錢省下買一項昂貴但是非常喜歡的東西, 也不要買好幾項便宜但是沒有那麼喜歡的東西.
2. 只有那種 "擁有了會高興地跳一場小舞" 的東西才值得買.
這應該不是指必需品, 不過我覺得很有道理, 畢竟便宜或特價也不表示東西值得買, 一定要喜歡才行!

One time I was trying to get a soccer ball with my son in Toysrus. As we were walking down the aisles, he suddenly pointed to a small football with Thomas printed on it and said he wanted that one.
I looked at the football and slowly asked him, "Do you know why there's a Thomas printed on it?"
"I dunno..."
"Because they want to use that to attract us to buy it."
"..."
"We want a ball that can roll smoothly on the ground when we kick it. Look at this [roll the ball on the ground]. Do we want this?"
"No"
We put down the ball and walked away. Then I went on telling him why different things have different images on it, why Telus has all those cute animals in its posters, blah blah blah...
We finally got a soccer ball.

Got to teach our children whenever and wherever we are!~ And I don't think we should just avoid the malls and commercials (eventually my son is going to have contacts with them anyway), but teach them to see through the underlying intentions and diminish their power.

I guess the definition of 必需品 is different... rice is 必需品 but when it is on discount, it may not be 必需. I guess when 必需品 is 必需, you need to buy it! But 必需品，必需要等特價才購買. hahah can that be more complicated?!! hahha
